The average cost of a new health insurance policy has increased to $2,945, according to a report from Avalere Health.
The average premium for a plan with a deductible of $1,000 or more rose to $1.85, up from $1 per person in 2017.
The report also showed the average cost per person of a private health insurance plan with an annual deductible of at least $3,000 rose to almost $1 million, up nearly $1 from 2017.
This comes after the average price of health insurance policies with no deductible rose by about $300, or nearly 5% over the last year.
The health insurance industry is in the midst of a health insurance market correction, as the number of people enrolled in private health plans have fallen and premiums have increased.
Avalere predicts the average health insurance premium for people in 2020 will be $1 $2 $3 $4.5, which is a significant decrease from 2021.
