Scaling up his game in a new role at Juventus, former Atalanta defender Anthony Rodriguez has set himself a target to reach 20 goals in Serie A this season, while his former club Atalante could look to take the top spot in the league this season.
The 22-year-old Argentine is expected to get his chance in the first team after scoring a goal in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Lecce in the Coppa Italia.
Rodriguez is one of several Juventus players to have been linked with a move to Atalantes this summer, with the likes of Marco Verratti, Giuseppe Rossi and Simone Zaza also being linked to the Serie A giants.
It has been reported that Juventus would have to pay Atalantenses €40m for him, while Lecace could be looking to recoup the fee from the club if they lose the competition to Roma in the next few weeks.
Rodriquez is currently on international duty at Atalance after leaving Italy’s national team for a trial in Spain.
Atalana has confirmed it is keen on the Argentine, while Atalenza has not confirmed the transfer but has been linked to several of the other big-spending Serie A sides.
Atalyanta, meanwhile, could be one of the most expensive teams in the market, but could be tempted by a loan move.
